All About Trees are proud to be part of Ireland’s Just Transition journey. With the support of an EU Just Transition grant from Pobal, we are currently renovating our outbuildings to create new facilities that will strengthen our team, expand our services, and bring lasting benefits to the Midlands.

The renovations will provide:

Staff Accommodation – ensuring our employees have comfortable and affordable housing, especially those travelling from outside the area.
Training Room – dedicated space to upskill our workforce and provide learning opportunities for those seeking new careers in arboriculture.
Modern Office – enabling us to grow our operations and better serve our clients across the Midlands and beyond.

Supporting Communities in Transition

As traditional industries such as turf cutting come to an end, families across the Midlands face real challenges. Our project aims to turn this change into opportunity. By creating sustainable, long-term jobs in tree surgery and arboriculture, we will achieve our objective of:

Offering new employment opportunities to those affected by the decline of peat-related work.
The project has used local trades and contractors to carry out the construction works.
Helping families remain rooted in their communities instead of having to move elsewhere for work.
Contributing to a greener, more resilient Midlands where local skills and traditions can evolve for future generations.

This investment is more than just bricks and mortar—it’s about people. By combining training, job creation, and sustainable development, we are working to ensure that the Midlands remains a place where communities can thrive. We are grateful for the support of Pobal and the Just Transition Fund, and we look forward to welcoming staff, trainees, and visitors to our new facilities in the near future.

Removal of dangerous trees on national roads

Contract title - Tree and vegetation removal Cork city

Client – Irish Rail

Duration - 9 weeks

Staff Crew 1

Locations - National road N8, North Ring slip road, Port of Cork entrance access road, Lower Glanmire road, over HSS building, public park (Millenium Gardens).

Tree size - large

Scope of work:

To remove trees and vegetation along the train line at the locations specified. Reduction in height to 15m of trees at risk of fouling the train line.

Traffic Management

AAT have SLG qulified staff in house to design and set up traffic managemenbt soltuons for work on national, regional and secondary roads. All signage used on site is in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic signs manual from the Department of Transport.
